Our Core Team

The Superstars!

MRKH Stars is a huge foundation with over 50 volunteers who share their stories and support us in supporting those with MRKH. We have a trustee team and a senior team of primary team members who contribute to the running of MRKH Stars however, at the heart of the foundation are our Superstars, the Core Team behind the foundation. These 4 advocates all have MRKH and between them run the foundation on a day-to-day basis. Get to know them here, and know you can contact any of them at any time by using any of our social media accounts, or through the chat function below.

Our 5th Core Team Member

Mia Becks

Secretary

Mia is our final member of our Superstars Team, and is a little different from the 4 above because, unlike Vics, Tk, Lily and Laura, Mia doesn't have MRKH! Mia is a supporter, and a hugely important one at that. Mia is Vics' best friend and has been by her side ever since Vics disclosed her diagnosis. Since then, Mia wanted to join the MRKH Stars Team and is a huge part of what we do and helping us run effectively and efficiently. She runs the Friends of MRKH Stars scheme, for friends and family of those living with MRKH. This is a hugely important part of MRKH Stars, and is something that brings MRKH warriors and supporters together.

Our Roles

Our Superstars have lots of roles! They work incredibly hard to make MRKH Stars a safe and accessible place for all, check out their roles here.

Vics Lane

Vics is 21, from the UK and is training to become an English Teacher. She is hardworking, passionate and has a strong drive to support the MRKH community. Vics founded MRKH Stars in April 2021 and is now the Co-Director alongside Tk. As a Co-Director and Co-Chair, Vics is one half of the duo who run MRKH Stars. Vics handles a lot of admin and paperwork that goes into running Stars, so spends a lot of time behind the scenes working on that. She is one port of call for any safeguarding/wellbeing concerns and has achieved her Level 2 Mental Health First Aid qualification. As Chief Executive, Vics also ensures that our health and safety policies are known by all, and monitors the effectiveness of the foundation and all of our teams and schemes. Vics is also one of our Volunteer Coordinators. This means she helps with the onboarding of any volunteers wanting to help us here at Stars, and helps them to settle in with their new role, this also applies to internal promotions and team changes. Vics also co-ordinates and/or takes part in all of the teams at Stars so is always around to provide support and advice.

Tk Kennedy

TK new.jfif

Tk is 22, from the UK and is a Nursery Practitioner. She joined the MRKH Stars Team in May 2021 and became Co-Director in October 2021, and is the creative brain behind everything we do here! As a Co-Director and Co-Chair, Tk is one half of the duo who run MRKH Stars, and is our most senior port of call for any safeguarding/wellbeing concerns. Tk is also our go-to for any child protection and welfare concerns, and makes sure that all of our youngest advocates are supported and happy in their roles. This also applies to any MRKH warrior who reaches out to us who are below 18, Tk is always on hand to provide support and advice for them. As Safety Officer, Tk also ensures that our health and safety, and safeguarding policies are implemented into all of our teams and schemes, as well as co-ordinating many of those herself.

Lily Wright

Lily is one of our resident US-based Trustees and is 20 years old. She is the youngest of our Superstars and is currently a student nurse. Lily acts as the Second Stars of MRKH Stars. This means that, after Vics and Tk, Lily is one of our 2 Deputies, so her input is heavily involved in the big changes and decisions we make within the foundation. Lily also heads up two major aspects of MRKH Stars. The first is as one of our Volunteer Coordinators. This means she helps with the onboarding of any volunteers wanting to help us here at Stars, and helps them to settle in with their new role, this also applies to internal promotions and team changes. Lily is also our Education Co-Ordinator, which means she oversees all of the information we are sharing about MRKH as a condition, and provides resources to the MRKH community and their families. As a Senior Manager, Lily also ensures that her teams are supported and comfortable in their roles, and is always on hand to provide help where needed. She is extremely hard-working and committed to advocating for MRKH and spreading awareness of the condition, and has been volunteering with us for over a year.

Laura Fairlie

Laura is 22 and is our only trustee from Australia. She is also a student nurse, and is committed to helping us shake stigmas and taboos surrounding MRKH and sexual health. Laura is one of our Second Stars, acting as a Deputy to Vics and Tk. Laura gives lots of input in making the practicalities of running MRKH Stars come to life, is involved in the key decisions and initiatives here at Stars, and helps us to keep the foundation a safe space for all to access. As our Wellbeing Coordinator, Laura is our first port of call for any concerns, questions, advice or support both within the Stars team and from those who contact us externally. As a Senior Manager, Laura also ensures that her teams are supported and comfortable in their roles at Stars, and is always on hand to provide help where needed. She is kind, compassionate, and is never afraid to fight for what she believes in. No problem is ever too small or too embarrassing for Laura, she is here to support whoever needs it openly and honestly.

She is responsible for many of the administrative duties within Stars, helping with paperwork, taking minutes at meetings, and ensuring that all written pieces for Stars have been proofread. Mia has also achieved her Level 2 in Mental Health First Aid, and is our first point of contact for parents, friends and supporters of people living with MRKH.
